This is August, 2000... Looks like the medication is kicking in, becuase I'll fairly settled in wealth creation mode just now. I've been very busy with my new job, which is a lot less dull than when I was previously at JPMorgan. Unfortunately, this page is dull this month, and last month was not even finished. It seems this time, all of the politics are shifting above me like a giant shit-storm-cloud, yet my attitude seems to be an umbrella of sorts. I gave a $50 donation to www.ifaw.org, seems some miscreants in China are torturing bears to death for aphrodesiacs and other useless "luxury" items. The Hollow Plot Reduced to reviewing a Kevin Bacon film - man, my life sucks! Hey, Tremors was excellent, KB is one of my favourite actors. Points of merit of The Hollow Man are as follows. 1. His next door neighbour is the same girl that they use to model Lara Croft marketing images. 2. The effects are very well done, yet you can't just wrap a movie in effects and expect a lack of original plot carry it. 3. Kevin Bacon did a great job being invisible, this is a tough act, I mean, Liam Neeson did a shitty job of pretending to talk to Jar Jar Binks, and it's the same sort of art here. But in the end, I'd wait for video. California in veritas A massive junket week for one, staying at the Westin Santa Clara in Silicon Valley. Oh wow, not. Silicon Valley sucks, socially. Sure it's the techno-center of the multiverse, but really, short of having a minor incusion with a wierdo woman in the carlot of restaurant, there was virtually no life evident in Northern California. All of that aside, because of the training I received at Veritas, a major software company, I've pretty much cemented my value in my current job at JPMorgan. Upcoming Film Projects You probably know the process, all hurry up and wait. Taking advice from a professional - I didn't quit my day job. A Quiet End and Forever Friends are currently in stasis, but I'm ready when they are. ©Copyright 2000, Jayson Hawley |
