This is June, 2000... New York City rocks, gee, I sure would like to live there. Hangon, I do, have done, sort of do, will do again. Oh shit, what's a subway ride under the river worth in difference anyway. Crazy man. If you can get a chance to pickup a good book, make sure it's PERV - A love story by Gerry Stahl, it's a short read and I love this guy's wit. Here's a bunch of stuff I'm investing my time in lately, in no order of importance or temporal quantitative heirarchy. Analyze for yourself. eve A novel, about a socially challenged guy on an outcast planet, and the girl he falls for when her army unit rolls into town. Bio-enhancements can get in the way of a romance, especially when she scares the crap out of you. A love story without sentimentality, just primal urges amplified by desperation and the unpredictable emotions of a sadistic, yet pitiable killing machine. Forever Friends A new short film adapted by Jim Catapano from a short story written by none other than Jim Catapano. I am co-producing as well as acting. I have been working with Jim at developing a more three dimensional persona for the lead character, Matt, a 20 something obsessive who finds what he believes to be true love, and the salvation from his depression, only to have it sink him deeper into a personal mire. With the help of his motley friends, he learns the true meaning of self-esteem. A Quiet End In pre-production from the greatest new independant film company since I don't know when, DivaGalaxy. Shelbric Fuller is striving to bring to film the story of three individuals all contemplating their terminal illnesses. There has been some interest from some key well known actors, notably Christina Ricci. Shel has promised me a small role, which, if I'm lucky, should land me a SAG card. Thumbs crossed. I hate you all, but... The dude has assembled all those friends he has in his life, just him and five guys sitting at a round table, all cordial-like. With friends like this, who needs the IRS? Six bullets, each one just needs a concrete reason - but who's the sixth candidate? A short story written by me, me and me only. J.P.Morgan I know a shit-load of people at JPMorgan, no really, a lot of people. I did work there for two years under the whip of the immigrant slave masters at Chelsea. Not this time, I've just started a job in the UNIX Core group working rather nepitistically for the technology management group that Steve Madden is coordinating. It's a good job, good people, great money, good bosses (one of them is my best friend), and a lot of collaboration to be had. Much better than that nasty CareerMosaic, and Alistair Crowley... eek. ©Copyright 2000, Jayson Hawley |
